A handmade plate earns its place through use: the way it holds food, the feel of the rim under the hand, the surface that changes slowly as it is used and washed over years. This one is made in Japan, shaped and glazed individually.
Tokushichi Kiln is based in Saga, Japan. Each plate is glazed by hand from start to finish — shaped, glazed, and fired individually, with the rim and surface given the same care as the overall form.
Japanese ceramics have been treasured across the world for generations, and a plate like this brings that living tradition to your own table.
- Formed and finished by hand. The glaze settles differently on every piece. Yours will differ a little from the one photographed — that is the hand of the maker.

Tokushichi Kiln
Porcelain, painted by hand in Saga. Tokushichi Kiln works in brushed motifs — arabesque vines, cherry, chrysanthemum — and in the rounded daruma form. The range runs from rice bowls and small dishes to plates, cups, and mugs. Each is painted individually.
・Handmade — One by One
Every piece from Japan Classic is formed and fired entirely by hand, in small quantities, one at a time.
These handcrafted works carry slight variations in shape, weight, and surface, bearing the subtle marks of true craftsmanship rather than mass production.
・Living Glaze
On glazed pieces, you will find fine crackle patterns—known in Japan as kannyu (貫入)—naturally created as the glaze cools after firing.
This delicate finish evolves with time, reflecting the quiet beauty found in wabi-sabi ceramics.
・Elegance
Inspired by Japan’s timeless aesthetic, every piece by Japan Classic blends tradition with modern versatility.
Whether for rice, soups, or shared plates, these refined tablewares are designed for everyday beauty, maintaining their grace in both Eastern and Western settings.
